Understanding the Request for Proposal

Understanding the Request for Proposal

The RFP is designed to get all providers to comply to a (hopefully) well defined scope of work and submit a bid to perform the work in accordance with these specifications, in an effort to "level the table".  Translation - get to the lowest prices.  The RFP is not designed to establish the basis of a strong partnership, which should be the goal for both parties.  This learning video "lifts up the hood" of the RFP so you can be well aware of the process before you jump in to participate.  Not all RFP's are winnable, but they demand your resources nevertheless.  One thing is certain, the RFP effectively eliminates any opportunity to determine if the organizations make a good "fit" to do business.
